Nothing lasts forever. Sooner or later your once nice-looking floor will need refreshing. It is at this point when you should consider getting your floor sanded. The sanding process itself is just a stage in the wood floor restoration and consists of removing the already damaged protective layer of your floor to eventually replace it with a new one. While it may look like a simple job, sanding is not easy and takes some practice to get used to. To help our professional teams in this task we provide them with the best dust-free sanding equipment to ensure that the sanding process is done as efficiently as possible. It is virtually impossible to fully avoid the dust, but our specialists use dust sheets to completely negate the effect. If you are keen to preserve the investment you've made in your home's flooring a sanding must be performed every three to five years.

Parquet Floor Sanding

Parquet floors are the type of flooring that require extra attention when sanding. So many things to take in consideration - The flow of the grain, the pattern, the light sources in the room. It can become quite a challenge to sand properly. Fortunately, we have the best equipment and most importantly the experience to do the sanding professionally. In addition, after we have performed the sanding service we can also provide various solvent or water-based finishing products, waxes, varnishes, stains and other stock to conclude the floor restoration.

Engineered Floor Sanding

Engineered floors consist of several layers of cross plywood and while they offer stability and moisture resistance they also are probably the hardest type of flooring to sand properly. The top layer of engineered floors is usually between 2,5 - 6mm. This severely limits the number of times the sanding process can be safely performed without damaging the wooden surface. Sanding such a floor is all about precision and removing as much from the damaged coat as possible all the while preserving as much of the top wooden layer as possible. It is this attention to detail that takes us one step above other flooring companies and allows you to preserve your engineered floor for a bit longer.

Gap Filling And Finishing a Wooden Floor

The restoration of a wooden floor is a complex thing to do. After the sanding service is performed the next step is the so-called gap-filling. As the name implies it is all about filling the gaps in your floor usually left by the expansion and contraction of the wood for a prolonged period. There are three ways to do this - By inserting acrylic filler with the same colour, by introducing filler strips or the most convenient way - by using already collected dust and resin filling. Most of the time we prefer to use the last method since it gives the floor a more natural look and dries rather fast. We can also offer many different water and solvent-based finishes for domestic or commercial use. If you have any questions, please seek free advice & quote at our phone 020 70360623.
